Ell is an actor, operatic soprano, and model based in Los Angeles. Originally from the Chicago area, Ell grew up in the Midwest and attended college in Wisconsin, where they earned a BA in Theatre Arts and Music from Lawrence University.
Since moving to Los Angeles, Ell has appeared in a variety of projects both on stage and on screen, including YouTube Red's Escape the Night. They currently study at Playhouse West, where they recently performed in a production of Yellow Face. This past summer they appeared in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Titus Andronicus in the Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival.
In addition to their focus on acting, Ell is active as a musician. Their lyric voice has been described as both powerful and angelic and is well suited to both epic and ethereal scores. On January 6, 2019 they released their first original song, “La Pucelle d’Orléans.” Recently they appeared as a vocalist on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and on stage they have sung in the chorus of Pacific Opera Project’s 2015 and 2016 productions of The Abduction from the Seraglio to sold-out audiences at El Portal Theatre and the Ford Amphitheatre.
As a model, Ell has worked internationally in a variety of media. Recently they appeared in several episodes of Lifetime's Glam Masters and was one of the models for the winning look. Their mixed ethnic look enhances their versatility, and their images range from youthful softness to urban edgy.
A self-proclaimed old soul with a childlike curiosity, Ell has a passion for learning and self-enrichment, and in their not-so-spare time they enjoy playing piano and violin, painting and sketching, reading everything from classic literature to Wikipedia articles, dabbling in languages, and pondering the meaning of existence. They are also a proud nerd and love sci-fi and video games.
